Vitamin B 3 – Louis Salvati (Abbott) • In reviewing the SMPR’s applicability statement and performance table – • Challenges with methods reviewed – One method was not total B vitamins, but appeared to be a contender for vitamin B 3 – One method has no SLV data using SPIFAN II matrices, but SPIFAN I matrices – Other methods were lacking in data to support methods meeting portions of the SMPR (e.g., spike/recovery data, LOQ, etc…. ) • Preference to have one method for all B vitamins – May want to revisit this preference

Next Steps & Course of Action

• Any working groups revisiting their SMPRs – Via teleconference after Annual Meeting – New members can sign up electronically – Draft revised SMPRs will be posted for public comment – Working Group Chair and AOAC CSO will reconcile comments – Final draft revision presented during Mid-Year Meeting • Any SMPRs not revisited, a new Call for Methods will be issued • Working groups will be asked to assist in finding methods that may meet the respective SMPRs
