STAKEHOLDER PANEL ON INFANT FORMULA AND ADULT NUTRITIONALS (SPIFAN)

Jan Kuhlmann, SGS Germany GmbH Working Group Chair (MCPD)

Jan Kuhlmann is the leader of the chromatographic department at SGS multilab Hamburg, Germany. After studying chemistry at the University of Hamburg, Germany and earning his PhD in the field or method development and field application for the determination of environmental trace

contaminants he started at SGS/Institute Fresenius in 2006 in Berlin in the department for pesticide residue analysis. Later in 2009 he took up the position as leader of a chromatographic department at SGS Germany GmbH. Since being with SGS he is involved in method development for analysis of organic trace contaminants in foods and feeds. He is author of two by AOCS validated analytical applications for the determination of MCPD and glycidyl esters. These methods became also ISO standards. Jan Kuhlmann has released some publications in his field of expertise and presents frequently on new perspectives of food contaminant occurrence and analysis on international conferences. In this context he is member of several national and international committees, expert panels and working groups.
