MEN'S ONE-DAY MEMBER/GUEST - JULY 11TH

RACE TO THE STEEPLECHASE - JULY 12TH Join us for the next Race to the Steeplechase Men’s Day on Thursday, July 12th. The day will consist of a 9am shotgun start, buffet lunch after play, scoring, and prizes. The cost for this event is $50 and includes cart fee, lunch, and prizes. Click Here to sign up. COUPLES NINE & DINE - JULY 20TH We invite you and your significant other to come and spend the evening with us. The golf staff will organize golf to begin with a Shotgun Start at 5:00pm. Following play, couples are invited to enjoy the sunset and dinner on the Terrace. Scoring and prizes will be presented before dinner. The cost per couple for this event is $35 for golf and prizes, dinner will be by signature off the a la carte dinner menu. To register click Here. LADIES QUEEN OF CLUBS QUALIFIER - JULY 11TH We invite all ladies to join us for our next Queen of Clubs Qualifier on Wednesday, July 11th. We will begin with a 9am shotgun start and meet on the Terrace for lunch and prizes following play. The format will be an individual net game and all ladies will play from the red tees. The cost for this event is $40 per person and includes cart fee, lunch, and prizes. Click Here to sign up. Our One Day Member/Guest tournament will offer lunch, available from 11:30am-12:45pm, a 1:00pm shotgun, prizes, and drinks after play in the Jockey Room. The cost for this event is $130 for one member and one guest. You may invite up to 3 guests to play in the event with each additional guest costing an additional $65. MEN'S CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP - JULY 13TH-15TH The championship season continues with our Men's Club Championship on July 13 th , 14 th , and 15 th . An exciting three- day competition with two rounds of Stroke Play and a Sunday Match Play format for those who qualify. Tee times will begin Friday at 12pm, Saturday at 8am, and Match Play matches on Sunday will begin at 8am and 12pm. Following play on Friday, hors d'oeuvres and beer will be offered in the Jockey Room. Chef Tom and his staff will prepare a buffet lunch with beverages following play in the Jockey Room on Saturday, and Sunday’s finalists will have a box lunch available between rounds. Champions will be announced on Sunday afternoon in the Jockey Room following play. The entry fee is $115 per player. Players are asked to register by clicking Here. The deadline to enter is Tuesday, July 10 th by 12pm. GOLF COURSE AERATION - JULY 16TH-19TH The greens, tees, approaches, and fairways will be aerated, verticut, and topdressed from Monday, July 16 th to Thursday the 19th. The golf course will be closed these four days and will reopen Friday, July 20 th . Tee times will be available during the closure at The Golf Club of Georgia for HBCC members for a cart fee of $25 per person. Tee times may be booked through the HBCC golf shop, at least five days in advance. Aerification is our most important cultural practice each year, and aids in water, nutrient, and air infiltration to the soil, as well as physically removing the thatch layer that forms just below the surface. As we first determined last year, it is advantageous for both members and the Course Maintenance department to aerate all areas in one week rather than spread out through the summer. With some help from Mother Nature, recovery time should be two to three weeks.
