COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Shakopee Parks and Recreation partnerships add value to the community. We offer many avenues for businesses and organizations to connect to the community in an exciting, welcoming, and mutually beneficial way. Partnerships are essential for bolstering quality recreation events in Shakopee. Establishing and nurturing a partnership between the city and groups/businesses provides tremendous opportunity to invest in the community—and ensures Shakopee maintains its reputation as a great place to live, work and raise a family. SPONSORSHIPS Monetary Sponsorships:

DONATIONS FROMTHE HEART Honor the memory of a loved one through a donation to the City of Shakopee. Residents can purchase a tree or park bench to be placed in one of Shakopee’s beautiful parks. The city will plant the tree or place the bench on behalf of the resident at the requested park. Residents can assist with the placement of the bench or help with planting.

Egg Hunt/Candy Grab

ADOPT-A-PARK Adopt-A-Park is open to community groups, and individual citizens who are interested in volunteeringwith the care and enhancement of public parks and

open spaces. In recognition of this service, groups will be named as the adoptees on a personalized sign placed in the adopted park/space.

In-KindDonations

HOPE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM This program enables Shakopee residents to participate in city recreation programs that may otherwise be unavailable due to financial constraints. For more information please contact the Parks and Recreation department at 952-233-9505, Mon.–Fri. from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Applications are valid from Sep. 1–Aug. 30. Requests must be made one week before you plan to register.
