The Log Cabin: Not just for kids Consider the city’s spacious venues for your next gathering Whether you are looking for a venue for a wedding, party, or family reunion, the Log Cabin at Lions Park is the perfect spot for all occasions. The Log Cabin is formally known as The Youth Building due to its history as a meeting space for scout organi- zations. As nearby Lions Park has evolved and grown, so has the Log Cabin, which is available through Shako- pee Parks and Recreation for groups and private rentals of all ages. Policy updates recently approved by the Shakopee City Council now allow renters to stay until 11 p.m. and serve alcohol on site in accordance with the building use guidelines. With plenty of space, comfort, and quiet, the cabin is ideal for any type of get-together. The cabin features a kitchenette area, with tables and chairs provided. Depending on what type of event you’re hosting, the nearby disc golf course, playground, and splash pad make for great additional amenities for your guests. As part of the policy updates, the Log Cabin is still available for all day rentals as well as a block of time from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday–Sunday. Weekday rentals are available by the hour. The Community Room, located inside the Shakopee Community Center, is another great option for your event. The Community Room is a perfect location for meetings, birthday parties, and receptions. It is a large, open room with a dance floor, catering kitchen, fireplace, and full wall of natural light. The Com- munity Room also offers audio and visual equipment. The space formerly known as Kids Cove in the Community Center has been under construction this sum- mer. Beginning Oct. 1, there will be three new rental spaces available in this area of the building. The newly remodeled spaces will accommodate between 25–45 people. For more information about our rental options, pricing, and full list of amenities, contact Shakopee Parks and Recreation at parks@ShakopeeMN.gov .
