833 1949 (13 June) An official Remittance receipt, bearing overprinted in blue char. ‘Silver Yuan/Kweichow Postal Area’ (銀圓/貴州郵區) on Pagoda $1 strip of 4 and $5, both tied by bilingual ‘KWEIYANG’ cds, fine. Photo HK$ 1,200 - 1,500 834 1949 (14 June) A cover to Zurich, Switzerland, bearing Silver Yuan Fukien surcharged, 10c on $6,000 on SYS Shanghai Dah Tung 2nd print (Chan S52) tied by the unusual obliterator cancel in black frame, matching the bilingual ‘AMOY’ cds. This cancellation is mentioned in ‘History of Postal Cancellation of China’ volume VIII page 665, there is a picture of a similar cover. It seems that the stamp on the cover was not cancelled at the town of origin and this was discovered in Amoy. With an article written by Tom Massa in The China Clipper Jan. 2015. Rare.
