AfriSam, the largest producer of concrete materials in Southern Africa, has acquired an equity stake in Port Elizabeth based Concrete 4 U, expanding its footprint in the Eastern Cape.

Founded in 1934, the company employees over 2 000 staff and is a proud Level 2 Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) contributor.

This acquisition augments and strengthens AfriSam’s ability to provide superior quality concrete solutions to its customers in this region. “The equity acquisition in Concrete 4 U expands AfriSam’s readymix footprint in the Eastern Cape region and fully aligns with our growth strategy”, says AfriSam CEO, Stephan Olivier. “We are making good progress with our growth plans and this transition will also be further strengthened by our planned grinding plant at the Coega Industrial Development Zone (IDZ). Our intention is to begin construc- tion soon as we have received a positive environmental authorisation,” he adds.
