#45 ANDY GUZENSKI Senior Linebacker Andy Guzenski returns for hi s senior campaign where he will again spearhead the Torero defense at starting inside linebacker ... last year he was named the team's Defensive Player of the Year after posting a team– best 90 tackles ... he was selected First Team All-PFL and Honorable Mention All-America by Don Hansen's National Football Gazette Weekly .. . is a two-time PFL Academic Honor Roll selection ... he ended the 2002 campaign with a school record 26 tackles (20 assisted) vs. Dayton ... he reached double digits in two other games (11 vs. Yale and 13 vs. Jacksonville) .. . is a two-time PFL Honor Roll selection ... in 2001 he led the USD Torero

defense in tackles with 59, earning Honorable Mention All -Pioneer Football League honors for his superb play ... he tallied 32 unas- sisted tackles and 27 assisted for a team-high 59 stops ... he also chipped in with two quarterback sacks (-7 yards), eleven tackles for loss (-20 yards), one forced fumble, and two pass break-ups ... his single-game best was 11 tackles at Dayton where he issued 8 unassisted stops ... he also notched double-digit tackles with 10 stops against Georgetown (5 unassisted, 5 assisted) ... during his sophomore campaign he appeared in five games, chipping in with six tackles (3 unassisted, 3 assisted) .. . prior to USD he prepped at Granite Bay High School - as a sophomore he played on the school's inaugural varsity team ... during is senior campaign he recorded 135 tackles as the team went undefeated at 13-0 and were CIF Champs ... he was All-CIF, All-League Defensive MVP, and All-City .. . he tallied 80 tackles his junior year (1st Team All-Sierra Foothill League) and 60 tackles his sophomore campaign (2nd Team All-League) .. . also played baseball ... chose USD for educational opportunities and environ– ment ... was also recruited by Northwestern, Boise State, Sacramento State and Nevada ... his father, Gordon, played baseball and soccer at Benedictine College. I #21 GAVIN NG Senior DB/Return Specialist Gavin Ng returns for his fourth and final season where he is projected to start at defensive back, as well as be the team's top return specialist with the special teams unit .. . this past season he earned the team's Special Teams Player of the Year honor ... for the second straight year he was Honorable Mention AII-PFL, and also was Honorable Mention All-America by Don Hansen's Football Gazette ... he was named PFL Special Teams Player of the Week after he returned a punt for a 53-yard TD against La Verne (Sept. 14th) ... for the season he

averaged 22.1 yards for kickoffs and 9.2 yards per punt return ... defensively he chipped in with 45 tackles (26 solo), 2 interceptions and 5 pass breakups ... in 2001 he earned Honorable Mention All– Pioneer Football League honors as a return specialist .. . he aver–

aged 36.9 yards per kickoff return which was highlighted by his 98-yard touchdown return in the season-opener against Azusa Pacific, and he averaged 9.4 yards per punt return with a long of 40 yards against Butler ... he also turned in two kickoff returns against Butler for a combined 87 yards with a long of 45 .. . defensively he also tallied 20 tackles with 16 unassisted stops .. . during his freshman campaign he recorded six tackles, including two for losses, in five contests ... a member of the Torero baseball team, in game two of the 2002 NCAA Regionals against New Mexico State, Ng's diving catch late in the game preserved USD's 2-1 win .. . prior to USD he prepped at Mililani High School in Mililani, Hawaii where he lettered in both football and baseball ... he also participated in track & field .. . his father, Donald, played football for Linfield College ... chose USD for chance to compete in collegiate athletics while earning an excellent education.
