Kyle Fitzgerald return s for hi s fo urth and fin al season with the Toreros where he is projected to start at invert ... thi s past season he ranked 5th on the team in tackles with 53 (25 solo) ... he tallied a season-best 8 tackles against La Verne and 6 solo tackl es at Yale ... he posted eight games with 5 or more stops .. . was named to the PFL Academi c Honor Roll for second straight year ... in 200 I he appeared in all nine contests fini shing with 15 tackles (9 solo) ... hi s best outing came at Valparaiso where he totaled 3 stops (2 solo) ... notched two tackl es in four contests (Dayton, Fairfield, Butler, Wagner) ... in the 2000 season chipped in with 6 tackles (5 solo) in four contests ... pri or to USO attended Clayton Valley High School .. senior year earned MVP, Mr. Defense and All – B.V.A.L. honors after totaling 166 tackles ... tallied 134 stops during hi s juni or season with team winning league title .. . chose USO for educational opportunites, great location, and the football program ... also recruited by Columbia, Yale and UC Davi s. Jeff Incerty returns for hi s fo urth and fin al season with the Toreros where he is projected to start at tight end ... last season he caught 17 ball s for 309 yards and 2 touchdowns ... he found the endzone against Azusa Pacific and Yale ... he caught 5 passes in season-opener against Azusa Pacific and hauled in 4 ball s for 118 yards against Valparai so, including a long of 60 yards ... named 2nd Team PFL All-Academic, and PFL Honor Roll for the second straight year ... in 2001 he caught six balls for 63 yards ( 10.5 yards per catch average), but more importantl y, he fo und the endzone with three of those receptions ... he caught touchdowns of 5 yards (Azusa Pacific), 2 yards (Dayton) and 22 yards (Wagner) .. . he caught two passes for 11 yards against Redlands ... made the Dean's List both semesters in 200 I ... pri or to USO attended Bell armine Coll ege Preparatory where he earned I st Team All -West Catholi c League honors in football ... also All-Mid-Peninsul a Team ... during his junior year was 2nd Team All -League ... also played basketball for three seasons ... chose USO for a great educati on, and to play fo r the Torero football team ... also recruited by Washington, Idaho State, Cal Poly and Fordham .

Brian Kirkpatrick returns for his third and final season with the Toreros where he will be a key back-up at the quarterback positi on ... a quality quarterback who will see playing time ... thi s past season appeared in eight contests where he completed 26-of-4 l passes for 329 yards and 1 touchdown ... he passed for 83 yards and 1 TD on 6-of- l0passing against La Verne ... he converted 7-of- I 0passes for 52 yards againstWestern Oregon ... in 2001 threw a 20-yard TD pass to Dana White jn 2nd quarter versus Wagner that gave team 27-0 lead; USO went on to win 41 -24 ... pri or to USO attended Hartnell Junior College south of San Jose .. . prepped at King City High School where he lettered in both football and baseball ... hi s dad was hi s hi gh school football coach ... senior season passed for 2,500 yards and 24 touchdowns while earning MTAL Offensive MVP and All-County MVP honors ... was All-League and All -County during hi s junior and senior seasons of baseball ... chose USO for its strong academics and solid football program. Brent Labarrere returns for hi s fourth season with the Toreros where he will compete for all the kicking duties, and also see acti on at wide receiver ... last season he averaged 39.7 yards on 26 punts, including 5 inside the 20- yard line ... also caught 14 ball s for 180 yards with a long of 44 yards against Western Oregon .. . season-best 6 catches fo r 94 yards against Western Oregon ... named First Team All-Academic, and twice has been named to the PFL Academic Honor Roll ... in 2001 he saw action with kickoff duties .. . in season-opener punted three times fo r I 04 yards (34. 7 average) with a long of 38 yards against Azusa Pacific .. . during hi s freshman season in 2000, he punted 19 times fo r 674 yards (35.5 average) with a long of 60 yards (Whittier); he also placed five punts inside the opponent's 20-yard line .. . prior to USO attended Damien High School where he was 1st Team All -CIF, I st Team All-Sierra League, and All -Vall ey with team going 10-2 ... he hauled in 40 receptions and averaged 44.6 yards in punting ... also lettered in track & field where he was All -CIF, All -League and a CIF Finals parti cipant ... his father, Paul , played wide receiver at New Mexico .. . chose USO for academi cs and beautiful campus ... also recruited by Oregon State, Ari zona State and Cal .. . Bryan Newbrough returns for his fourth season with the Toreros where he is projected to start at free safety ... hi s first two seasons he saw acti on on both sides of the ball (RB & DB); last season played at free safety where he fini shed 2nd on the team with 73 tackles (37 solo) ... last two games totaled double-digit stops with 12 vs. Southern Oregon and 14 vs. Dayton .. . tallied 3 interceptions with 57 total yards in return ... named to Dean's List, PFL All -Academic First Team and PFL Academi c Honor Roll for second straight year ... in 200 I he opened season against Azusa with 20 rushes for 68 yards; he scored the team's first touchdown of the season with a 3-yard run in 1st quarter as USO went on to win 34-13 ... defen sivel y he totaled 4 tackles in seven contests ... prior to USO he prepped at Oak Ridge HS in El Dorado Hills, CA ... senior year rushed for 1,300 yards; also had 3 interceptions as team went 11 -1 and he was All -Sierra Valley ... junior year rushed for 1,050 yards as team went 13-0 and were CIF Section Champs ... al so lettered in track and tennis ... chose USO for quality college education and to play football .. . also recruited by Cornell, Saint Mary's and UC Davi s.
