the Council what increases in the rates of remuneration should be sought by the Council by amending orders. \ Sex Disqualification (Removal) Bill. The Secretary reported that this Bill awaited Royal Assent, and it was ordered that upon its becoming law the Secretary do accept applications from women applying to become apprentices to Solicitors, subject to the existing regulations applicable to apprentices.' Statutory Committee. A letter was read stating that the Lord Chancellor had appointed the following Members of the Council to be the Statutory Committee for the year ending 26th Novem ber, 1920 :—Mr. R. Blair White (President), Mr. Bradley, Mr. Henry, Mr. McDermott, Mr. C. St. G. Orpen, Mr. Seddall, and Mr. Warren. Committees of the Council. Committees of the Council were appointed for the coming year.

Election of President and Viee-Presidents. The Council elected Mr. R. Blair White to be President of the Society, and Mr. E. H. Burne and Mr. P. Rooney to be Vice- Presidents of the Society for the ensuing twelve months. Overend Scholarships. Draft regulations for administering the bequest to the Society by the late Mr. Trevor T. L. Overend, a. past President, for the founding of Scholarships were submitted and adopted. Compulsory Membership. The Privileges Committee were requested to consider and report to the Council whether it be desirable to seek powers to compel all practising Solicitors to be members of the Society.

Twenty-four Members present. Solicitors' Remuneration. The Costs Committee were requested to consider the existing orders regulating Solicitors' remuneration, and to report to

Solicitors' Annual Certificates.

Members that Annual Certificates for the year ending 5th January, 1921, should be taken out and the duties paid thereon before the 6th February, 1920. are reminded
