Obituary. MR. JOHN A. CARLYLE, Solicitor, died upon the llth February, 1920, at his residence, St. Catherine's, Ailesbury Road, Dublin. Mr. Carlyle served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Robert K. Clay, 21 St. Andrew Street, Dublin ; was admitted in Michaelmas Sittings, 1896, and practised in partnership with Mr. F. W. A. Duncan, under the style of Messrs. Carlyle and Duncan, at 49 Dawson Street, Dublin, up to the year 1915, when he retired. MR. PERCY J. WALDRON, Solicitor, died upon the 14th February, 1920, at Ottawa. Mr. WaWron served his apprenticeship with his father, Mr. John Waldron,Abbeyleix ; was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1913, and practised at Abbeyleix, up to the year 1916, when he went to Canada. Legal Appointment. MR. ARCHIBALD V. MONTGOMERY has been appointed Clerk of the Crown and Peace for the County of Meath, in room of Mr. George Knight, resigned. Mr. Montgomery was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1886, and practised in partnership with Mr. C. H. Chaytor, at 13 Molesworth Street, Dublin, and Trim, and was Vice- President of the Society hi 1913. New Members. The following joined the Society during February :— Arthur J. Beatty, 31 Molesworth Street, Dublin. Cecil P. Moore, 34 Kildare Street, Dublin. George R. Reid, Solicitor to General Post Office, Dublin. Robert Wallace, 51 Royal Avenue, Belfast. Commissioners to Administer Oaths. Mr. Justice Ross to the Secretary of the Surveyors' Institution (Irish Branch), 110- Grafton Street, Dublin :— Oatlands, Stillorgan, Co. Dublin, I4th January, 1920. Dear Sir, I have consulted the Lord Chancellor in reference to the subject of your letter of 30th December, 1919. We propose to raise the Receivers' fees from 5 per cent, as at present to 7 per cent., and the fees for collecting dividends from 2| per cent, as at present to 3 per cent., provided that the' Receiver Examiner, or corresponding officer in the Lord Chancellor's Court, certifies that such increase will not put an undue burden on the estate in each case. I, the Right Honourable Sir James Henry Campbell, Bart., Lord Chancellor of Ireland, pursuant to all powers vested in me in this behalf, Do hereby Order and Direct that in the taking of accounts in lunacy matters the Registrar in Lunacy, or the Examiner on his behalf, may until further -order, allow to Receivers and Committees a poundage at tlw rate of 7 per cent, on income derived from real estate, and at the rate of 3 per cent, on income derived from'personal'estate, pro vided it shall be certified by the Registrar in Lunacy that such allowance of increased poundage will not interfere with the pro vision made for the maintenance and support of the patienl ; ' .
