CoPRRa Seminar to be held at Gimborn Kees Sal, Chair of IPA International

We had a Ball Section UK raised £500 which will be donated to the National Police Memorial Day (NPMD). The 1st Annual Charity Ball was organised as a national event and took place in York. Special guests included the founder of the NPMD, Joe Holness and his wife Sharon; the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, David Kenworthy; The Lord Mayor of York with the Lady Mayoress. Entertainment was provided by Eden - world class singers Libby Johnstone and Lucy Campbell. Speaking about the event, Dave Taylor, Secretary General and organiser of the event said, “The Royal York Hotel provided an excellent service and Mark’s a Scholar I PA member, Mark Hutcheon, has presented his report to the International Professional Commission (IPC), following completion of a training course in Las Vegas earlier this year. Attendance on the course was made possible with an Arthur Troop Scholarship. Writing about his experience on the course, ‘Narcotics, Vice and Street Crime Supervisors Training’, organised by the International Association of Undercover Officers (IAOUO), Mark describes his trip as an ‘experience of a lifetime’ and the course as ‘the prestige training available in this field’. Professional Commission (IPC) has written to Police World with details of an international seminar taking place in November, 2014. Following on from the successful CoPPRa (Community Policing Preventing Radicalisation and Terrorism) presentation at the International Executive Council (IEC) conference in Copenhagen last year, IBZ Gimborn will now hold an international seminar on the topic of radicalisation within communities from 24-28 November 2014. This seminar provides a unique opportunity to learn how to become aware of and identify radicalisation within communities, as well as allowing participants to acquire a certificate as trainer for this topic. This certificate will qualify each participant to train and teach on this subject in their own section. Originally a successful EU project, the managers-trainers Jean Paul Devos and Rob Out (current IPA External Relations Commission member) will guide participants The seminar will issue all necessary tools to pass on to first line officers and increase the awareness of radicalisation within a community-based and problem-orientated environment. Schlich Tour in Germany Great food and excellent company of friends and colleagues - what more do you want when you go on a motorcycle tour?

We had an excellent BBQ during which a presentation shield was given to Stan Croot thanking him for all his help in making a successful tour. A Section UK pennant was presented to Herr Schlich, now proudly displayed at the hotel reception desk. On the return journey, we met with Kees Sal, International Vice President and International Professional Commission Chair, for an evening meal. Kees honoured us by riding two hours from his home to meet us.

Well, we had brilliant roads, fair weather and biker hotel accommodation in the Eifel area - Reidener Muhlen near to the Nurburgring, Germany. Our hotel host Christian Schlich, ensured a plentiful supply of food. We were also blessed with the local knowledge of Stan Croot, an IPA member domiciled in the village, who arranged two days of great motorcycling routes for us.
