Functioning within time, place and space becomes meaningful when explored through language whose purpose is seeking directions in the target language within the context of orientation in a city environment. Culture in a Francophone context impacts on gastronomy and reveals that personal and cultural expression helps to define a specific purpose in mind. Empathy is more likely to occur when forging connections with people on a global scale through travel.
