RIGOROUS WASH TESTING The effectiveness of high visibility garments diminishes when they become dirty or faded. It is essential for workers to conduct regular checks on their garments to ensure they are clean and vibrant. The reflective tape strips should be in good condition, without signs of wear, tearing, or peeling. Therefore, it is important to invest in garments that have undergone thorough testing to ensure their durability. At Portwest, we conduct rigorous wash testing on our high visibility garments, subjecting them to up to 50 home washes. This surpasses the industry standard of only 5 washes as required by EN ISO 20471. Following 50 home washes, our garments at Portwest demonstrate exceptional durability and performance. • Garments maintain their shape, ensuring a comfortable and safe fit for the wearer. • The fabric retains its colour fastness, preserving the vibrant visibility of the garment. • Our retroreflective HIVISTEX™ tape and HIVISTEX™ Pro segmented tape continue to uphold their reflective properties, enhancing visibility even in low light conditions. • Furthermore, essential components like buttons, studs, and fasteners exhibit reliable functionality, ensuring the overall quality and longevity of our high visibility garments.
