Parc éolien Dune-du-Nord 2590, route 199, Pointe-aux-Loups parceoliendunedunord.ca Open: year-round. Only the information area is open to the public. The Dune-du-Nord Wind Farm is located a few kilometres East from Pointe-aux-Loups. With two turbines of 4 MW, the facility generates 15% of the Îles-de-la-Madeleine’s electricity which in turn reduces 17,000 tons of CO2 from the Hydro-Québec thermal generating station. An information area is situated at the parking lot of the second wind turbine from Pointe-aux-Loups.
A recreational tourism site including a picnic area with wooden walkways giving direct access to La Dune du Nord beach. Also available on-site from June to September: a showroom with a whale skeleton, public bathrooms, a bar, an ice cream shop, restaurant, outdoor showers, volleyball court, playground for children and live music on Sundays in July and August. L'Étang-du-Nord Site de la Côte 499, chemin Boisville Ouest, L'Étang-du-Nord 418-986-5085 ― sitedelacote.ca Open: June to october. The Site de la Côte is a unique place located near the fishing wharf of L’Étang-du-Nord. The park is home to a walking trail, various picnic tables and petanque fields, a giant chess game, a variety of boutiques, a coffee shop, and a restaurant. It celebrates literature during the Festival littéraire des Îles, visual arts during PANORAMA, as well as music during the popular music shows at sunset.
