Parks and Building Maintenance

Harrison Residents, The Parks Department has been working hard with spring cleanup. We have been cleaning out flower beds, putting down mulch, and weeding the curbs. We have also been cutting back shrubs and pruning trees. Daily maintenance includes trash pickup and keeping the bathrooms clean and in working order in our parks. Our bi weekly water samples have come back well within normal parameters. We also just had a company treat all the trees at Crystal Lake Park and Mill Street Park for brown-tailed moths. In our cemeteries we replaced a section of fence in the Harrison Village Cemetery and have been cutting back encroaching trees and keeping the grounds maintained. This year we also took over two new cemeteries. We hired Addison as a full-time seasonal floater to work with Keith in the cemeteries and parks. Alex has been moved to take over daily maintenance at RADR. The Parks Department takes care of all the properties downtown, nineteen cemeteries, three beaches, Crystal Lake Park, and RADR Sports Complex. Also, over the years we have taken over all the building maintenance in town. We also do snow removal of sidewalks, parking lots, and curbside parking spots in the winter. This includes keeping the fire hydrants clear of snow. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the Parks Department for all their hard work and dedication to the Town of Harrison.

Sincerely, Albert R. Lisowski Director of Parks and Building Maintenance
