Banners made by children walking in the parade on Constitution Day are mostly characterized by nature motifs like mountains, rivers, waterfalls, flowers or wild animals living in the mountains. In cities all over Europe there are statues of previous Kings and presidents on horses, mostly in uniform. The statue of the Norwegian King Olav shows a king in clothes related to outdoor life (Tordsson, 2007). Pedagogical friluftsliv can also been seen as an important culture in the Norwegian society. Kindergartens, primary and lower secondary schools have learning objectives related to nature and outdoor life at all levels. It is quite common to practice outdoor teaching once a week during 1.-3rd grade. After school 80 % of children (6-15 years) still play in nature. Biking, skiing and swimming is the three most popular activities. Only 2 % is inactive (Statistics Norway, 2015). Figure 3.
