Millstone Kindergarteners Learn A Tasty Lesson By Pam Teel

In March, the Millstone Township Kindergarten classes at the primary school were doing a unit on ‘How to Do Things in Order.’ To help them out were Mary Costagliola, retired Millstone grade school teacher, and her son Frank, owners of Vesuvio’s Pizza and Restaurant. Not only did the children learn the step by step process of how to make a pizza, they got to enjoy the finished product as well. The children were divided into two groups of 60 children per session. They got to feel the dough hands on as they watched the step by step demonstration of the order in which to put the ingredients on the pie before it goes into the oven. Each student received a pizza hat and a little coloring booklet to take along with them. This is the fourth year the Costagliola’s have helped out with this project. The cost per each student was $3.00, totaling $267.00, of which the Costagliola family donated back to the school along with an additional $233.00 to make an even $500.00 to help start a fund to go towards further school security.

The children not only got an informative lesson on doing things in order but a tasty lesson one as well!
