Northern dynamo Just like Aarhus and Odense, Aalborg has strengthened its position as the regional growth centre in recent years, driven by population growth, university expansion schemes and the city’s thriving airport, Aalborg Airport, among other things. A new superhospital is scheduled to open in 2021. In addition, several industrial facility closures have freed up extensive development areas for residential newbuilding near the city centre, with domestic and property investors alike ˜ocking to Aalborg as a result. Dynamo i nord Aalborg har, ligesom Aarhus og Odense, de senere år udbygget positionen som landsdelens vækstcenter. Blandt årsagerne er stigende indbyggertal, udvidelser af universitetet og fremgang for Aalborg Lufthavn. I 2021 ventes supersygehuset at slå dørene op. Desuden har lukningen af ˜ere industrivirksomheder skabt store udviklingsområder med boligbyggeri tæt på centrum, og adskillige ejendomsinvestorer er søgt mod Aalborg, både hjemlige og udenlandske.
