The Dail Select Committee on Legislation and Security has invited submissions on the following topics:- 1. The Liquor Licensing laws. 2. The Official Secrets Acts and all other statutory provisions which restrict access to information with recommendations to bring them into line with the best international standards of public information provisions. A most enjoyable Golf Outing was recently held in Woodbrook in aid of the Solicitors' Benevolent Association. The thanks of the Association are due to Colm Price who organised it. Mr. Price employed his usual charm to encourage his colleagues onto the tee in a mixed scramble. This was followed by dinner in the Clubhouse which was open to non-players as well. The Association is also grateful to the Bank of Ireland which sponsored the event. The outing raised just under £2,000 and those who made donations as well as those who played will be happy to know that this money will be used to alleviate the hardship experienced by some of their less fortunate colleagues and their families. Smyth, is arranging a concert to be given by Our Lady's Choral Society in Blackhall Place on Tuesday 1 October, the proceeds to go to the Benevolent Association. It is hoped that members will give this their full support.
