If necessary open DWELL19 , expand the subprojects. If you change the duration of task 9 Select Subcontractors of the Planning subproject note that the Structure subproject does not move. Undo any changes.

Under the Planning subproject, click the 10 Complete Planning Phase task. Under the Structure subproject, hold [Ctrl] , click the 3 Dig Foundation task and then release [Ctrl].

Change the duration of task 9 Select Subcontractors of the Planning subproject, note that the Structure subproject does move. Undo any changes.

Practice the Concept: Link the 13 Build Deck task in the Structure subproject to the 2 Initial Plumbing task in the Infrastructure subproject. Notice that the task ID for the Initial Plumbing task changes to 3 indicating an external predecessor task.

Drag the split bar to view the Predecessors field. Notice that the subproject path and file name of the linked task appear for the Dig Foundation and Initial Plumbing tasks. Use the taskbar to view the tasks in each subproject file. Notice that the tasks that represent the link to the other subproject files appear in gray.

Close all open projects without saving.
