Lesson 6- Working with Resource Pools

Step-by-Step

Create a resource pool.

Open House14.mpp and create a new project.

1. In House14 select the View tab. The View ribbon appears.

2. Select the Resource Sheet command. The Resource Sheet view appears in the view area. 3. Select and copy the desired resources. The desired resources are copied. 4. Switch to the new Project . Use the Switch Windows button on the View ribbon or switch by clicking on the taskbar. The new project is active. 5. Select the Resource Sheet from the View tab and then Paste from the Task ribbon. The resources are copied into the new project.

6. Click Save .

Click and name the project Manpower .

The Save As dialog box opens.

Close Manpower.mpp and HOUSE14.mpp without saving changes.

Discussion

When you share resources, the resource pool is linked to the project files. As a result, all the resources in the pool appear in each project sharing the pool, even if a sharer file does not need all of the resources.
