Discussion

You can include additional information in a project by inserting or linking files from other applications and graphic images, or by creating hyperlinks to other files or Internet/intranet addresses.

Graphics can be added to several areas of a project including the chart area in the Gantt Chart view; the Notes page for a task or resource; the header, footer, or legend of a view or printed report; and the Objects box in the Task Form or Resource Form views.

Graphics enhance the look of a project and convey graphical information. Effective use of graphics include inserting a picture or blueprint of the project in the Gantt chart area; adding the company logo to a header so that it appears on each printed page of the project; and inserting photographs of employees listed as resources as notes or objects information.

NOTE In addition to inserting graphics, you can also insert or link other objects containing information such as a chart from a spreadsheet program, a word processing document, an organization chart, or sound and video clips. You can also use copy and paste to add graphics from a Windows application to a graphic area in Microsoft Project. The Notes page for a task or resource is accessed by double- clicking the task or resource. You can also use the Notes button on the Task ribbon, Properties group. The Objects box for a task or resource is accessed by selecting the View ribbon, Split View group, Details checkbox, Task form or Resource form. You right click the form to access the Notes or Objects boxes.
