Club ANNOUNCEMENTS Independence Day Hours of Operation , July 4th The Main Clubhouse , Course , and Practice Facilities will be closed Monday , July 3rd and will reopen with normal hours of operations on Tuesday , July 4th . The Athletic Center will be open normal hours on Monday , July 3rd but will close at 6pm on Tuesday , July 4th . Horseshoe Bend CC embraces its special function as a family club , and therefore asks everyone ’ s careful attention to our rules governing children . Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the Athletic Center unless accompanied by an adult . Children 12 and over ARE permitted in the Athletic Center and will be afforded all the services of the Club and are held to the same standards of behavior as any member ’ s guest . Any behavior problems may result in the loss of Club privileges . Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult . The pool and tennis staff are not responsible for babysitting or “ parenting ” members ’ children .

RACE TO THE STEEPLECHASE JULY 13TH

JUNIOR GOLF SCHOOL JULY 6 - 7TH & 21 - 22ND Our 2017 Junior Golf Schools consist of six hours of instruction over the course of two days . These schools are for junior golfers ages 9 - 14 that have some experience on the golf course . The schools will provide insight into all aspects of the game as well as competition amongst the participants . The overall goal of the school is to inspire and grow confidence in each junior golfer through competition and comradery . Our hope is that these schools will inspire junior golfers to keep score , improve their scores and compete . Each student will receive a practice plan upon completion to help them to reach goals they are looking to achieve . 2017 MEN ' S MEMBER / GUEST RESULTS

MEN ' S CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP JULY 21ST - 23RD

The championship season continues with our Men ’ s Club Championship on July 21st , 22nd , and 23rd . An exciting three - day competition with two rounds of Stroke Play and a Sunday Match Play format for those who qualify . Tee times will begin Friday at 12 : 00 pm , Saturday at 8 : 00 am , and Match Play matches on Sunday will begin at 8 : 00 am and 12 : 00 pm . Following play on Friday , hors d ' oeuvres and beer will be offered in the Jockey Room . Chef Tom and his staff will prepare a buffet lunch with beverages following play in the Jockey Room on Saturday , and Sunday ’ s finalists will have a box lunch available between rounds . Champions will be announced on Sunday afternoon in the Jockey Room following play . The entry fee is $ 115 per player . Players are asked to register by clicking Here . The deadline to enter is Tuesday , July 18th by 12 : 00pm .

Congratulations to our 2017 Men ’ s Member / Guest Champions : Mr . Brent Paugh and his guest , Mr . Kyle Parks ! We had a great week of competition with 60 teams in ten flights competing over three days for the opportunity to make it into our “ stampede shootout ”. Once the flight winners were determined , they were divided into three separate groups where they duked it out to get to the final shootout . We had three teams arrive at # 17 tee to play two holes to decide our overall champions . Mr . James Johnson and his guest , Mr . Bruce White , from Flight 3 , Mr . David Walsh and his guest , Mr . Kenny Libby , from flight 7 , and Mr . Brent Paugh and his guest , Mr . Kyle Parks , from Flight 8 . On # 17 , the team of Mr . Walsh and Mr . Libby were knocked out by a 3 - foot putt from Mr . Brent Paugh . Mr . Paugh and his guest , Mr . Parks , advanced against Mr . Johnson and his guest , Mr . White . Mr . Paugh decided to lay up on the par five 18th hole , and barely stayed out of the water . Mr . Parks hit an iron over the green from 220 yards directly into the bunker . Mr . Parks would need to get his bunker shot on the green and two putt to all but win the event . He was faced with a tough downhill shot and hit it perfectly ! Thank you to all who participated in this magnificent event ! We hope that you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you next year . It was a pleasure to see so many members and guests come together over three days , get to know each other , and have such a wonderful time . I heard a countless number of compliments from guests who were impressed with the golf course , amenities , and staff . It is always fun to have guests come to these events and give members an opportunity to show off the Club in such grand fashion . Thank you again , and we will soon begin planning for 2018 !

COUPLES NINE & DINE JULY 28TH

We invite you and your significant other to come and spend the evening with us . The golf staff will organize golf to begin with a Shotgun Start at 4 : 00pm . Following play , couples are invited to enjoy the sunset and dinner on the Terrace . Scoring and prizes will be presented before dinner . The 2017 season is officially a wrap ! We had a super successful 4 - 1 regular season , followed by a terrific performance at Georgia Tech . 48 Swimmers swam in divisionals and 13 returned for finals . Top Finishes : Caroline Blair placed 1st in the 100 Free and 5th in the 100 IM , both new HBCC records . POOL PARTY , JULY 14TH Summer is here , and it ’ s time to party !!! Join us poolside on Friday , July 14th with the party starting at 5pm . The evening will include music , games , food and drinks at the Tennis and Swim Clubhouse . Kids ’ activities will include carnival games and inflatables . The pool will remain open until 9 : 30pm . Food and drinks will be available by signature . For our tennis enthusiasts , the weekly Friday Tennis Social will be held as normal , and with the added festivities , it just got more fun ! Swimming lessons will be offered through the entire summer .
