The new agreement will see the partnership run until the end of the 2015/2016 season and includes the sponsorship of Club Youth Rugby and the High Schools competitions, marking an ongoing investment in Ulster’s young playing talent. “Our company has a longstanding tradition of striving to help the local community and in particular encouraging more young people into sport,” commented Nick Coburn, Managing Director of Ulster Carpets. “We are delighted with the ongoing success of the partnership and are proud to associate our brand with Ulster Rugby, an organisation as dedicated and progressive as ourselves,” he added. Since the beginning of the partnership in late 2012, the number of registered youth players in Ulster has risen to 6122,

an increase of 1474. The number of high school matches played has also increased significantly amongst both traditional and non-traditional rugby schools. Barry Willis, Ulster Rugby’s Community Rugby Manager, commented: “We’re delighted that Ulster Carpets is remaining on board as sponsors of Club Youth and High Schools Rugby for a further two years. The partnership has proved highly successful to date, with their investment allowing us to provide more structure and support to our competitions. For Ulster Rugby to become a major force in European Rugby, it’s imperative for us to have sustainable growth in our playing resources at all levels, so it’s pleasing to see a rise in the number of registered youth players across the Province.”
