Shimmering apparition Slipping into memory; Hiding in stretched cotton And color streaked skies. Oceanic stretches Of a cool, icy light And softly, softly, She shies from our eyes. Rainbow By Bethany Werner

By Genesis Simmons A New Day

her eyes are closed and dreaming, while her fingertips are shattered. the syllables you string together finally caught up to her. you pounded at her crumbling confidence just long enough to watch it fall. every bit of self worth she possessed moved out, forgetting to pay the rent. and while you look at her face, her sweet face that is not one of a child nor an adult, you can see the punishment she has given herself. a smirk rests below your nose like it’s a throne. you think she deserves unhappiness and self hatred. you want everyone to feel the way you do.

don’t be fooled, she is not you. when she opens her eyes, it will be a new day. tomorrow.
