2026 Maine Snowmobiler of the Year - Ron Constant

Maine, spending time riding in the Eustis, Stratton, and Rangeley regions while introducing many of his friends to Maine’s incredible trail systems and snowmobile culture. After discovering Aroostook County in 2016, Ron quickly developed a deep appreciation for the region’s expansive trail network and welcom ing snowmobiling community. His passion for Northern Maine eventu ally led him to purchase a home in Presque Isle in 2020, where he now spends much of the year enjoying the outdoors and contributing to the local trail system. What truly sets Ron apart is his unwavering commitment to giving back. Long before many members of the Presque Isle Snowmobile Club knew his name, Ron was already volunteering countless hours on the trails. Armed with a chainsaw, hand tools, and a small sled full of equip ment, he spent days clearing brush, trimming trees, and improving trail conditions entirely on his own — not for recognition, but simply because he cared about the future of the sport and the experience of fellow riders. Over the past five years, Ron has nearly single-handedly built, painted, and installed more than 800 trail mark ers and critical signs throughout the club’s 90-mile trail system. Whether working from his Polaris Ranger in the fall or walking trails on foot during

the winter, Ron is known for putting in long hours — often from daylight until well after dark — to ensure trails remain safe, well-marked, and enjoy able for everyone. In addition to maintaining existing trails, Ron has also played a major role in expanding the local trail net work. Over the past three years, he has helped add six miles of new trail — the first major additions to the sys tem since the 1990s. From securing landowner permissions to flagging routes, organizing volunteers, and completing signage, Ron has been involved every step of the way. Though he never sought recognition or titles, Ron’s dedication and leader ship eventually earned him a position on the Presque Isle Snowmobile Club Board of Directors. In 2025, he was unanimously elected Assistant Trail Master — a role his fellow club mem bers believed no one deserved more. Ron Constant represents the very best of Maine snowmobiling: hard work, humility, and an unmatched passion for the trails and the out doors. His countless hours of vol unteer service have made a lasting impact on the snowmobiling com munity throughout Northern Maine and will continue to benefit riders for years to come. Congratulations to Ron Constant , Maine’s Snowmobiler of theYear.
