Alden Wattles Named 2026 MSA Landowner of the Year (100 Acres or More), Sponsored by BRP
When a key trail connection was lost, he stepped in to help create a lasting solution—working with volunteers to construct a 36-foot bridge over Lemon Stream, restor ing access and strengthening the regional trail network. In addition to providing land access, Wattles supports the club by housing equipment and contributing his own machinery and expertise to trail work. His efforts ensure that trails remain safe, scenic, and accessible for riders each winter. The MSA Landowner of the Year Award honors individuals whose dedication supports the future of snowmobiling in Maine. Alden Wattles exemplifies that spirit through his stewardship, leader ship, and unwavering support of the sport. T he Maine Snowmobile Associa tion, with the support of BRP, is proud to announce Alden Wattles of New Vineyard as the 2026 Land owner of the Year for properties over 100 acres. This prestigious award recognizes landowners whose generosity and commit ment make Maine’s snowmobile trail system possible. Wattles Farm, a 500-acre property purchased by the Wattles family in
1951, is a quintessential western Maine landscape of fields, forests, and mountain views. Today, Alden Wattles serves as its dedicated steward, maintaining the land with care while preserving its natural beauty and accessibility. A long-time Trailmaster for the New Vineyard North Snowmobile Club, Wattles has played a vital role in maintaining and improving local trails that cross his property.
Tim Barclay Named 2026 MSA Landowner of the Year (100 Acres or Less), Sponsored by Polaris
T he Maine Snowmobile Associa tion, in partnership with Polaris, is proud to recognize Tim Barclay of Leeds as the 2026 Landowner of theYear for properties 100 acres or less. Nominated by the Leeds Stump Thumpers Snowmobile Club, Barclay has made a lasting impact through his generosity and hands-on support of local trails. He has used his own equipment to assist with trail improve ments, including work onTrail 36, and has enhanced safety by providing reflective signage materials for better visibility. Whether behind the scenes or out on the trail, Barclay is known as someone who simply steps up and gets the job done. Barclay has also opened his prop erty not just to snowmobilers, but to the broader community. This past winter, he hosted a snow mobile club skating party that brought families together for sled rides, skating, and outdoor fun—
introducing many to the sport and strengthening community ties. The MSA Landowner of the Year Award, sponsored by Polaris, hon ors individuals whose support makes Maine’s trail system possi ble. Tim Barclay exemplifies that
