Hello Fellow Angus Breeders,

A year ago, we thought Tom and Kim Marcy would be completely out of the registered business. With the grace of God and the support of a lot of good friends and neighbors, Kim is home and cancer-free. Given this opportunity, Tom and Kim will stay in the business for the immediate future and George, his son Colter and family will be selling most of the females this year. Our 2018 Fall Female Sale is a complete dispersion of the 2011-2013 model cows from Marcy Livestock and all of their natural heifer calves at side. (None held back.) Also included is the pick of the entire 2018 heifer crop of 100 females born, including all of the embryo heifers. Pathfinder foundation females sell, including many that have produced top-selling bulls over the past several years. Never before have we offered these top young heifer calves from these elite females. Donor cows and embryo packages sell. The great majority of these cows go back to three cows purchased by our dad Charles, his brother and their father Jay in 1945. Tom and George purchased the cows in 1989 after working with them for several years before that. At that time, the cows we bought were heavy-milking, easy-fleshing and very fertile. Since that time, we have es- tablished criteria of intense selection pressure to add high-performance cattle that work in the feedlot and on the rail, but still retain the Deep-Ribbed, Fertile, Easy-Fleshing Cowmakers that Marcy Cattle Co. has always stood for. These cows produced many of the 496 bulls that have sold for an average of $5,654 in our last three annual bull sales, including our 57th Annual Sale in 2018 where 187 bulls averaged $5,335. These cows and bred heifers are offered for sale privately, with a bid-off through DV Auction. You can bid on the cattle at any time prior to the auction and if no one raises you, they are yours. Past reports from females sold for many years have been very positive, and we are very confident these females can build a program for any serious breeder around the nation who believes in cattle that produce top-quality, no-nonsense cattle. We demand fertility, type and quality without creep feeding or supplementing cattle that is not natural to their environment. We hope you can participate on DV Auction or in person at Gordon Livestock Auction, Gordon, Nebraska on Sept. 13, 2018. This is a video-only sale; the cattle will not be in Gordon, but you can look at them ahead of time at the ranch and bid on them live in Gordon.
