Suffolk Law - 2019 AJD New Student Information Guide

RESOURCES

Practice Materials

The Law Library subscribes to a number of resources that will help you better understand areas of law that you might be unfamiliar with. For example, MCLE OnlinePass provides commentary on the law in the form of webcasts, books, checklists, and forms.

Research Assistance

Full-time, professional legal research librarians provide research assistance in person at the Reference Desk on the sixth floor of the Moakley Law Library, by email (lawref@suffolk.edu ), and by telephone (617-573-8516). See the library’s home page for reference hours.

Trainings and Courses

Throughout the year, the Law Library offers numerous trainings (or “micro-trainings,” as we like to call them). These trainings are designed to be brief—20 minutes tops—and will help you with a range of skills, from using Word to format efficiently, to enhancing your understanding of ALWD and Bluebook citations, to learning how to better tackle LPS assignments. Check the Law Library’s website for more details. The Law Librarians also teach a number of 2-credit advanced legal research courses each year, such as Practice-Ready Legal Research, Massachusetts Legal Research (which is fully online), and International & Comparative Legal Research. Check out the course description page for more details.
