Chile cable study

Chile’s telecommunications regulator is studying the possibility of a direct subsea cable system between South America and Asia. It would provide an alternative to current connections routed via the United States or Europe. The government has awarded a $2.9 million contract to Telecommunications Management Group Inc and WFN Strategies LLC to provide an assessment of

the economic, technical and legal issues surrounding the project.
