to another highly anticipated album of electro-pop: Broods’ sophomore set Conscious , which is due in-store on June 24. The award-winning duo – siblings Georgia and Caleb Nott – are promising a tougher, punchier sound this time around and the involvement once again of Lorde collaborator Joel Little means this could be their breakout album internationally. Speaking of which... we’re afraid we don’t have any new updates on whether New Zealand’s biggest pop star will
check out our great selection. A good place to start would be the Taite Music Prize nominees; Silicon’s debut Personal Computer was the deserved winner last month, but if you haven’t done so already, we recommend you also check out the other shortlisted albums – Princess Chelsea, SJD, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, MarlonWilliams, Phoenix Foundation and Nadia Reid – all of which testify to both the quality and diversity of our local scene.

release her second album in 2016. Lorde has apparently been hard at work on the new record with the likes of Jack Antonoff (Taylor Swift’s 1989 ), and even has a title – but is still yet to announce a release date for it. Fingers crossed…
However, this month we would like to look ahead to a couple of big homegrown albums due out next month.
