A rigato means thank you in Japanese. And a more appropriate name could not be found for Newbury’s new restaurant, with its cuisine from the land of the rising sun. For you will be saying thank you to the freshest sushi, nigiri, ramen and more when dining there – and how about an arigato for me for telling you just how good this place is? We went on a Saturday lunchtime (even then you need a booking, such has been its popularity since it opened) and the place was packed. This old bank and Grade-II listed building is now elegant, befitting its past, but with clean, modern Japanese lines.
