Increased sawing centre turnover for RSA in 2007

RSA will spend additional money on its worldwide service network. The company aims to consolidate its market position in the global automotive supply industry, achieving uniform quality standards from any location through a uniform machine concept. This requires a worldwide efficient and reliable service from machine manufacturers. RSA considers the prospects for its tube-processing branch to be absolutely positive. The company’s profits of the past two years will be invested in up-to- date production in order to meet the next economic downturn. According to RSA, many companies are already planning for additional processing modules when purchasing sawing centres. These companies base their strategy on opening up additional sales potentials with short notice equipment expansion, in case production capacity decreases. This way, the branch is well positioned. including products, machinery, equipment and engineering. Technology on display will include dies and tools, finishing and shaping, machinery and plant equipment, measuring and testing, tube mills, rolling mill technology, ferrous tube and pipe, non-ferrous tube and pipe, and plastic/ composite. Organised by Expomedia Group, the new event will also feature conferences, technical workshops and seminars about domestic and international tube and pipe production. The organizers expect in the region of 250 exhibitors and over 5,000 visitors in 3,500m 2 of exhibit space. Sectors represented will include automotive, aircraft manufacturing, construction, chemicals, energy and power supply, mechanical engineering, marine and shipbuilding, offshore, oil and gas, and petrochemicals. RSA, Germany, achieved a turnover of over €21m in 2007, surpassing the high goals the company set itself regarding turnover and market share. In particular, the company experienced above-average sales increases in the market sectors of the automotive supply industry and tube production. Dipl-ing Mr Rainer Schmidt, RSA’s business manager, states, “In the pre-production of the tube and section processing, the diversity of workpieces has considerably

increased – last but not least due to new steel grades. Flexibility and profitability are the keywords for up-to-date sawing centres and the reason for our increased sales.” For 2008, RSA has again considerably increased its research and development budget. “We will considerably advance in the field of rationalization of working processes. The customer will be able to increase the flexibility of its production and lower the piece costs,” Mr Schmidt explains.
