Shakopee families to enjoy safe, free Halloween fun. This year's event runs from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25.

The Shakopee Parks and Recreation Department has been hosting the Spooky Family Fun Night event for 12 years. Nine years ago, the event was combined with the Shakopee Ice Arena's annual Scary Skate to create a bustling event for kids of all ages. Attendees can enjoy a variety of activities, including coloring and crafts, games and

bounce houses. The Shakopee Ice Arena will have free public skating throughout the event. Bring your own skates or borrow a pair of ours. (Free skate rental is limited.) Be sure to wear your costume to take part in the costume contests. Prizes will be awarded to winners in two categories: individual and family/group. Fuller St. S. COST: Free
