Goslings Room News

This month in Goslings we have welcomed some more children from the Chicklets room! We are amazed at how quickly they have settled into the room and built bonds with their new Key Person. In just a short period of time being in the room they have also developed their confidence and independence, from being able to wash their hands at the sink and drying them all by themselves, to being able to find their own picture on their cups and placemats at mealtimes! We are also so proud of the older Goslings children who are currently transitioning to the Cygnets room and how well they have been doing during their settle sessions. When back in the Goslings room they have been taking on such a caring role towards the new Goslings. They have been finding toys for them to play with or have been giving them regular cuddles, as well as asking them if they're okay. Throughout August, we have been changing the secret garden into new and exciting things for the children, this is located at the back of the Tipi. At the beginning of the month, we followed the children's interests and transformed the secret garden into a magical dinosaur land, then later for Pirate Week! In the secret garden you could find a pirate ship made from cardboard boxes that had just arrived on a new island! Towards the end the month, the Goslings have enjoyed celebrating our Country of the Month 'Jamaica'. This also included celebrating carnival! The Goslings made some brilliant festival crowns and masks to wear while we all danced away to some reggae nursery rhymes! The children were also very helpful in making some yummy pineapple upside down cake to take home at the end of the week to finish off the celebrations.
