Cygnets Room News

The Cygnets have had yet another super busy month, we have been looking at our Country of the Month, Jamaica, through exploring different textures in the tuff tray including rice, we also incorporated maths into the children’s play using numerals and encouraging the children to count as they scooped rice into different sized containers. The children have had access to lots of water play in our tuff tray as we have been supporting the children to strengthen their fine motor skills as we have been emptying and pouring. Many of our Cygnets have had baby siblings arrive this month, we have set up role play activities, so the children have been looking after the baby dolls by washing, dressing and changing them. The Cygnets celebrated Eid-ul-Adha at the beginning of the month, we enjoyed looking at the different clothes that people wear during their celebrations, as well as creating our own ‘henna hands’. The children have been settling in Swans this month before their transition in September, they are all getting on extremely well. We want to wish all our Cygnets the best of luck as they are soon to begin their next adventure at 22SLN in the Swans room, we would also like to thank all the parents for their continuous support throughout your child’s time in the room. On another note we are very excited to welcome all our newbies to the Cygnets room who are also settling extremely well. We are looking forward to getting to know our new Cygnets and their families.
