ment, school systems, and private therapy clinics. She received her certification in Neuro-Developmental Therapy (NDT) for children in 1989 and began specializing in neuro-muscular function and movement disorders. Dawn began working for Poss-Abilities Children’s Therapy Group in Merriam, KS where she continues to serve children with neuro-muscular disorders and cognitive challenges. Recently, Dawn began a non-profit organization called Mane Motions Therapy Foundation, an outreach mobile therapy service designed to enhance the benefits of horse- back riding by using a mechanical horse, the MiraColt. This device will provide riding opportunities to children who would not have access to actual therapeutic riding experi- ences. She hopes to take this service to schools, therapy clinics, and therapeutic riding facilities in the four state regions to reach under-served children with special needs. As an adjunct to actual riding experiences, Dawn hopes her services with the MiraColt will work together with cur- rent riding facilities to increase access for these children as they transition to the benefits of actual horseback riding. Dawn plans to continue to work on growing her foundation and becoming certified in Therapeutic riding and Hippo- Therapy in the future.
