Don’t miss the ever-popular Adequan Ranch Rodeo Friday and Saturday nights at EquiFest. The competition is tough and exciting. Teams compete for prizes and bragging rights for who is BEST at what they do every day. This gives spectators an insight into the life of the ranch worker and some of the daily duties from roping, riding, and working as a team to bring home the beef! Grandstands fill up and t eams are different each day, so grab a seat early and enjoy the pre-event festivities. Watch for Kansas Rodeo Royalty who will be selling raffle tickets in the stands as a benefit for the Kansas Horse Council Foundation Scholarship Program. Get your tickets for a chance to win half the sum and know you are also supporting youth involved in the horse community who are heading to college!

TEAM SORTING: 1 . Team sorts three designated cattle within a two-minute limit.

2. Time starts when a team member crosses the chalk line. At that time, the team will be given a number designating the cattle. Any or all members may cross the chalk line. 3. Any undesignated steer that crosses the chalk line will receive a NO TIME. 4. The team will receive a NO TIME if any designated cattle re-cross or come back over the chalk line. 5. The time will be called when the tail of the last steer crosses the line. A NO TIME will be given for less than 3 cattle. SINGLE MUGGING: 1. Four-man team, all on horseback. 2. One steer will be turned out and roped within 45 seconds. 3. After a steer is roped, cowboy dismounts and ties 3 legs together and removes the loop. Animal must stay tied for 6 seconds. 4. Steer must be mugged down. 5. Two-minute time limit.

HALF TIME SPECIAL: Enjoy the Trixie Chicks Trick Riders

TRAILER LOADING: 1. Trailer must be “Road Ready”. 2. Time starts with flag.

3. Trailer gate must be shut when time starts. 4. Cow/steer must be caught within 45 seconds. 5. Cow/steer must be loaded by hand into trailer. 6. Door on trailer must be shut and latched. Rope must be clear of the trailer. Trailer must appear “road ready”. All team members must be out of the trailer and in the circle before time is called. 7. Trailer will remain stationary at all time during this event. Time stops with the flag. 8. Two-minute time limit.

WILD COW MILKING: 1 . Four-man team; anyone may rope; roper who catches cow must milk the cow. 2. Cow will be at end of arena; cowboys will be at opposite end. 3. When flag drops, cowboys may start. 4. Cow must be caught within 30 seconds. Rope must pass over cow’s head.

5. Muggers dismount and mug the cow; rope must be on the ground before the cow is milked. Cow must be on her feet. After milking, rope must be taken off the cow, and anyone may run on foot with the bottle in hand to the circle to stop the time, then must hand the bottle to the judge for inspection. 6. Judge must pour milk and there must be at least a “drop” out of the bottle to receive time. 7. One and one-half minutes (90 seconds) time limit. 8. Rope must be off the cow for time to stop.
