RAIN PROTECTION
We cannot control the weather, and when it rains you need clothing that protects you as you work. EN343 protection against rain sets out the requirements for clothing, materials and seams to protect against rain, and also snowflakes, fog and ground humidity. The standard uses 2 performance parameters: water resistance and breathability. There is an optional rain tower test (EN 14360) where clothing is exposed to the impact of high energy droplets (450litres/m²/hr). The performance is shown as e.g., EN343 Class 4:3:X , where 4 is the water resistance, 3 the breathability and X indicates the optional rain tower test was not undertaken.
