FLEXIBLE PACING STANDARDS

REPORTING STANDARDS

KEY LANGUAGE USE

● Recognize and draw shapes having specifc characteristics ● Divide circles and rectangles into equal parts

Standard of Mathematical Practice #2: Reason abstractly and quantitatively. Content Standards: Standard 2.MD.9 Generate measurement data by measuring lengths of several objects to the nearest whole unit, or by making repeated measurements of the same object. Show the measurements by making a line plot, where the horizontal scale is marked off in whole-number units. Standard 2.MD.10 Draw a picture graph and a bar graph (with single-unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories. Solve simple put together, take-apart, and compare problems using information presented in a bar graph.

End of Unit Competency and Language Supports

By the end of Topic 15 students will be able to explain how line plots, bar graphs, and picture graphs can be used to show data and answer questions. Language Functions and Features: Describe data and/or steps to solve problems using: ● Mathematical terms ( data, line plot, graph, bar graph, picture graph, symbol, tally chart, difference ) ● Visuals ( bar graph, picture graph, line plot, tally chart ) to support approach, solution, and/or extract information
