At the heart of 210 acres of vineyards cultivated organically for more than forty years, lies the family estate of Figuière. Located between Toulon and Saint-Tropez, near Lavandou and Bormes-les-Mimosas,

Figuière is ideally situated between the Mediterranean Sea and the Massif des Maures. Alain Combard’s winemaking roots began in Burgundy, but in 1992 he left in search of new viticultural terroirs that were still untapped. One year later he discovered and purchased the first 37 acres of Domaine Saint André de Figuière, where he began making wine with the conviction that Provençal rosé merited equal status with other great wines. Today siblings Magali, Delphine and François have taken over from their father Alain, proudly continuing his pioneering spirit. They produce a line of both estate bottled and négociant wines, each reflecting the winery’s commitment to elegant and pure rosé expressions. In 1979 the family decided to grow their grapes organically and have received ECOCERT certification. The majority of the soil is comprised of schist, thus yielding finely textured, mineral wines. More than ten varietals are planted at Figuière, including Grenache Noir, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Rolle, Sémillon, and Ugni Blanc. Vinification is done in stainless steel tanks. See page 719.
