Mixed Years’ and Leavers’ Art and Design Exhibition Private View Thursday 4th July, 5.00pm Hosted by the Friends of St Edward’s From earth paintings featuring material from the Quad Development site, to light projections, installations, mixed media sculptures and ceramics, this Gala Private View is an exciting finale to Gaudy Week. Upper Sixth Leavers’ work is in The North Wall Gallery, with equally impressive exhibitions in the Art Department of work by the Lower Sixth and Lower School year groups, including work produced for IB, A Level and Teddies Foundation courses, along with high quality textiles, printmaking, ceramics, painting and photographic work from GCSE pupils.

Charity Art Auction of work by Arkadiy Petrov Thursday 4th July, 6.00pm The North Wall Join Sixth Former Arkadiy Petrov for an auction of his stunning artworks in aid of the school charity, Plastic Tides. ‘The pursuit of beauty is a natural need of human beings,’ he tells us, ‘and art should satisfy this need by bringing aesthetic pleasure. My work is greatly influenced by the Baroque period, especially the works of Bach, Rameau and Handel. In this music, I find an unrivalled level of sophistication which I seek in my work.’ Enjoy – and purchase! – Arkadiy’s work in The North Wall from 6.00pm.

Shuttle coaches for the Sheldonian Concert (see page 24) will be departing from the Lodge every 15 minutes from 7.00pm.
