We are pleased to report that this year’s events for Frenchman’s Creek Women for Cancer Research were extremely successful. As a result of the commitment and tremendous effort of our Frenchman’s community, we raised more than $240,000. These funds are used exclusively to support the salaries of Post-Doctoral Research Fellows at Scripps Institute, Jupiter, who are working on a cure for cancers and neurodegenerative diseases. Our season began in December with a sold-out luncheon and fashion show at Neiman Marcus, which was spectacular. On January 10, our members celebrated a Meet and Greet Reception at Scripps Institute, meeting the researchers and touring the labs. On Fri- day, January 18, we held our Annual Canasta Tournament, which was enjoyed by 170 participants.

This year both our Concours d’Elegance and the Annual House Tour were held on Sunday, January 27. Three stunning homes were presented for all to enjoy and we thank our gracious hosts and hostesses for their hospitality.

The tennis tournament, pickle ball and bocce ball were exciting events that provided fun for all players. This year’s Golf Tourna- ment included 170 golfers and was a huge success. Our closing luncheon was beautiful, delicious, and informative. Scientists from Scripps were in attendance once again, and we learned about the many advances made this past year, and the research plans for the coming year. It was fascinating to hear their exciting visions of the future of healthcare. The great success FCWFCR had this year is because Scripps shares and reflects goals that are deeply personal to our members. We are proud to live in a community that is caring and committed to making a difference in the lives of many. We look forward to the future success and ever-expanding influence of the research being conducted by Scripps Institute, Jupiter.

Richard Fleisher Co-Chairman

This year was once again a successful Men’s Health Day. We raised $365,000 for the Jupiter Medical Center Hospital. A beautiful and full breakfast was served at 7:00am. Both the North & South courses were utilized to accommodate an enthusiastic group of golfers. At lunch we heard from Don McKenna, President of Jupiter Medical Center. He discussed the $300 Million capital cam- paign, which is well underway. Frenchman’s Creek has committed $1.5 million toward the development of the Comprehensive Cancer Institute Building. The golf staff did an outstanding job led by Rocco Panzitta.
