• Exceeded goals to reduce OSHA recordable employee injuries for both System and ARMC for the past nine years. • Restructured Home Health and Hospice program, allowing for the modernization of the clinical care delivery model utilizing point-of-delivery (POD) systemmanagement methodologies. • The 5 Harmony Unit at City Campus achieved re-designation in Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE). • Existing 4 Wellness (City Campus) nurses completed the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) certification. • The City Camus 4 Wellness care model was accepted for a presentation at the Magnet Conference and Organization of Nurse Leaders of New Jersey (ONLNJ). • Center for Childbirth Local Improvement Team (LIT) developed and completed its first project to improve quality and safety for shoulder dystocia. • Emergency Department managers completed training for critical incident debriefing. • Emergency Department clinical managers mentored Pathways in Leadership project and Rutgers nursing students. • Emergency Department nurses, technicians, and providers developed the Lean Six Sigma Project to improve patient flow through the Emergency Department by direct bedding model and streamlining processes incorporating dual rapid evaluation units. • Lean and Six Sigma Transformation continued to focus on improvement and efficiency work, with 100 new employees trained, including 70 staff and 20 leaders receiving focusedWhite Belt Lean training. • Professional Practice and Development developed and implemented simulation and hands-on training for newly hired registered nurses. More than 100 registered nurses participated in a simulation with mock Code Blue and Code Stroke. • Professional Practice and Development researched, revised and implemented comprehensive Patient Care Associate (PCA) orientation, with 125 PCAs and companions oriented. • Professional Practice and Development partnered with Rutgers University to form first cohort of five registered nurses in the Clinical Nurse Leader Master’s Degree in Nursing Program. • Professional Practice and Development provided mentoring and professional development for six Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) student projects. • Professional Practice and Development developed and implemented evidence-based nurse residency program. Sixty-four new nurses have enrolled in the program and 44 have graduated. • Professional Practice and Development created and held five Ambulatory Nursing Leadership Council (ANLC) meetings with 48 members from across the system. • Nursing revised the orientation for advanced practice nurses (APNs) and created an APN residency program. • Thirty-five percent of clinical nurses are certified in their area of practice. • Sixty-five percent of clinical nurses hold a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (BSN) degree. • The AtlantiCare Emergency Management team successfully conducted two system-wide drills called “Gale Force Winds” in fall of 2017. • Security and Emergency Management leadership completed two ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) active shooter instructor training courses and now has more than 220 certified ALICE instructors. Upgrades to the Vocera communication tool at ARMC were also made. • Celebrated the 10-year anniversary of our self-insured and self-administered workers’ compensation program. We achieved reduction of 40 percent in injuries per 100 employees over this time.

• Conducted a mock trial for the ARMC team to improve knowledge of litigation risks and process. • Donated $8,500 to internal and external programs through our Employee Resource Groups (ERG)s. • Donated over 200 prom dresses to high school students through LEADS (women’s ERG).
