FRESHMAN (2007): Has played in 19 matches with 10 starts for the Toreros as a mainstay in the defense...has been a key defensive player by helping to secure the team's 10 shutouts this season, to include defensiv stops against sixth-ranked UC (9/14/07) and fifth-ranked Santa Clara (10/14/07) ...has been a huge help in the team bolstering a 0.69 goals-against-average. HIGH SCHOOL: Earned four varsity letters playing soccer for coach John Gilson at Ursuline High School...was named first– team All-North Bay League all four years...was tabbed the League's MVP as a junior...during her junior season, she helped lead the team to a No. 1 National ranking...as a senior was named the Press Democrat SGb lar Athlete of the Year for Ursuline High School...played club soccer for the Santa Rosa United U-18 Gold team ...helped her u team to the Surf Cup champion– ship twice and to the Sta Cup North once. PERSONAL: Adelaide Cartan was born on April 20, 1989 in Santa Rosa, Calif....is the daughter of Jim and Nancy Cartan...was heavily recruited by Stanford, Pennsylvania, Brown, Oregon and Washington...chose to attend USO because of the outstanding women's soccer program, the academic reputa– tion of USO and because of the location.

II • I in eight matches with no sta rts... demonstrated a strong pres– ence on the defensive end for the Toreros and had helped USO bolster a 0.62 goals-against-av– erage. • I • HIGH SCHOOL: Earned four varsity letters playing soccer for coach Ian Kidd at University High School...she was named first-team AII-Sonorah Region all four years...in her sen ior season, she scored an impressive 24 goals, to help lead her team to a Regional Championship...as a junior she tallied 19 goals, and helped lead her team to the Regional Championship...played club soccer for the Tucson Soc– cer Academy...her team was the state runner-up in three of the four years she played for them ... was a member of the Arizona ODP state team from 2003-06. PERSONAL: Heather Anne Burke was born on December 27, 1988 in Tucson, Ariz.... is the daughter of Bruce and Melinda Burke... chose to attend USO because of the outstanding women's soccer program and because of the academic opportunities...she is one of three girls in her family to lay soccer...her sister, Michelle Burke, plays soccer at Smith College.
