Special steel wool from MTB

There are currently four methods of wire purification after scaling: mechanical cleaning by brushing; mechanical cleaning by jetting; mechanical purification by peeling and purification by using chemical aids. However, Meier Technische Beratung has emerged with a new development. After breaking the scale the wire rod is run through equipment in which six or eight fast rotating cleaning units, loaded with pads of steel-wool, surround the surface and take off parts of grain or dust. The thin ropes of steel wool cause a scraping effect on the surface of the wire but without damaging it because of the weakness of the pad which adjusts itself to the surface, and the surface of wire is smoothed in a very soft way. The cleaning units are positioned in angles of 180° along the working Metallurgically bonded, precious metal-clad wire and ribbon that are a cost-effective alternative to solid products for manufacturing high-reliability connectors and components are available from Anomet Products. To meet specific requirements, Anomet precious metal clad wire and ribbon can include platinum for oxidation corrosion-resistance and bio-compatibility; gold for contact resistance and palla- dium or silver, each clad to core materials such as copper, Kovar ® , niobium,nickel-iron,molybdenum, stainless steel, tantalum and titanium. Precious metal clad wire and ribbon is offered in diameters of 0.05mm to 3.2mm and up to 25mm, respectively. distance. This method gives a purified surface and sets the wire in the best condition for further working. There is no necessity for passivation. In spite of the plant costs, the operation costs in total are very low: no brushes, no tapes, no cutting tools, no acids, only inexpensive pads of a special steel wool. The rubbish can be recycled or disposed as waste.

The physical dates are not affected and the quality of the wire is equal to the conditions after hot-rolling. Additionally, the increasing temperature while working causes relaxation to the wire rod. Meier Technische Beratung GmbH – Germany Fax : +49 30 436 68593 Email : mtbgmbh@arcor.de
