DESTINY, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel What in the name of all that’s holy is THAT?! Don’t worry, it’s only a massive monster, controlled by another player, that’s out to kill you. It’s getting more powerful all the time, so you and three buddies need to nut out a way to take it out before it becomes an even more massive monster. This is your life on the planet Shear, a far-flung colonised outpost where you’re a part of forces tasked with evacuating any colonists that haven’t been variously impaled, eviscerated or otherwise mutilated by these horrific creatures. Predominantly a co-op experience, those who dig doing the solo trip can also enjoy evolving. But, emanating from the same fertile minds as the Left 4 Dead series, you just know that the multiplayer arena‘s where this shooter is at. Happy hunting! EVOLVE Ever fancied rappelling down a blimp in mid-flight? If this sort of derring-do is your style then you won’t be able to resist this trip into an alternate world history where the Knights of the Round Table protect a technologically advanced 19th century London from marauding animal/human hybrids. If you’re concerned about the logic hole of many centuries here, the Camelot crew discovered a mystical elixir which seriously extended their lives (we assume that they guzzled it from the Holy Grail, natch). Plus, it’s fiction! An action/adventure combination of stealth and strategic multi-weapon shooting which seamlessly flows from cutscenes to action and back again, you play variously as four Knights of the Order, tasked with keeping, well, order. BYO coconuts... THE ORDER: 1886 If you’re serious about strategy, history and gaming, then you’ll most likely already be on first name terms with the Total War series. Having previously plundered renowned historical battles and battlers ranging from the days of Rome through to feudal Japan and beyond, with a short (heh) stop for the exploits of Napoleon, it’s now famed and once feared Hun Attila’s turn. Commencing before his rise to leader of the nomadic Hunnic Empire way back in three- figured AD – the dawn of the Dark Ages – you’re in control as the developing great Eastern warrior, leading your forces in a charge upon the great excess that is the Roman Empire and beyond. You’ll require wits in this combination of turn-based strategy and real time tactics to become the number one Hun, hon... TOTAL WAR: ATTILA While fantasy fans may be bummed that this has absolutely nothing to do with mythical winged beast testicles, those who worship the long-running Japanese manga series Dragon Ball will be thrilled. Not only is it another beat-’em-up oozing with series lore, it’s the first foray of Goku, his friends and their exploits onto now-gen systems – and in a wholly new story. Yes, it isn’t all about existing characters. You create your own to slot seamlessly into the universe, as you belt seven shades of snot out of all comers in gloriously destructible 3D environments. Even if new to DB, serious fight fans will revel in some 200 special moves, while more fashion- conscious brawlers will adore making characters really ridiculously good looking via some 450 costume pieces. For serious! DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE THE LAST OF US: REMASTERED, METRO: REDUX TOTAL WAR: ROME II, TOTAL WAR: SHOGUN 2
