Radiotherapy: WBRT standard of care with the goal of short-term palliation

- Typical indication: multiple brain metastases

- 30 Gy in 10 fractions or 37.5 Gy in 15 fractions or 20Gy in 5 fractions is considered “standard” dose for WBRT - Patients with life aspectancy < 3-6 months 20 Gy in 5 fractions - Leptomeningeal tumor extension - WBRT regimens demonstrate median survivals 15-18 weeks

Significant risk for neurocognitive decline due to damages to the brain parenchyma or induction of intracerebral vascular changes
