Spencer Aquatic Center The Spencer Aquatic Center is in Riverview Park at 612 4 th Street SE in southeast Spencer. The Spencer Aquatic Center has provided family fun and entertainment for nearly 20 years in the community. This facility offers residents and visitors of all ages many opportunities to enjoy water slides, fountains, and a large swimming pool. The Spencer Aquatic Center is made possible by a partnership between the City of Spencer and the Spencer YMCA. The City’s Parks Department handles the facility’s maintenance while the YMCA covers the staffing and programs offered at the aquatic center. Thousands of children and adults enjoy the Spencer Aquatic Center each summer.

Spencer Youth Baseball & Softball

Youth Little League baseball and softball activities are organized and run by the Spencer Youth Baseball & Softball Association. The Association provides organized youth ball teams, games and tournaments for children ranging from Kindergarten through 8 th grade. According to their website http://spencerlittleleague.org, the purpose of the Spencer Little League is to “firmly implant in our youth the ideals of sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for leadership.” All games are played at the facilities in Pederson Park along the east side of Spencer. Pederson Park is a wonderful ball park consisting of a Kindergarten sized ball field, nine (9) youth ball fields and a regulation size baseball field. There is also a full concession stand and restroom facility to serve all of the ballfields. In 2016, the City of Spencer installed a new children’s playground in Pederson Park to complement the ball fields. Furthermore, in 2017, the City will be undertaking a major improvement project at Pederson Park in which more than $1 million will be spent on replacing and upgrading the park’s lighting system.
